Chaucer appoints new Senior Innovation Underwriter

Iryna Chekanava, from the Lloyd’s Lab, will further bolster Chaucer’s leading Innovation team, led by Tom Graham, Head of Partnerships and Innovation.

Chaucer, the global specialty (re)insurance group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Iryna Chekanava as a Senior Innovation Underwriter. Iryna will play a central role in further developing Chaucer’s leading work in innovation. This will be in the critical areas of weather risk, climate change, intangibles and parametric products, amongst others. She will collaborate with Tom Graham, Head of Partnerships and Innovation and Nasra Ahmed, Senior Innovation Manger.

Iryna joins from Lloyd’s, where she was the senior manager for innovation growth and partnership at the Lloyd’s Lab. Iryna has over a decade of experience in business growth and product development, previously specialising in supporting insurance technology initiatives. Prior to Lloyd’s, Iryna was an Open Innovation Fellow at London & Partners, the inward investment agency and worked for InsurTech businesses such as Envelop Risk, InsTech and Blocksure. Iryna began her career at technology focused management consultancy Capgemini.

- Kita, the first carbon credit insurer

- K2 parametric, a parametric insurance provider for commercial companies, which develop bespoke indices specific to client requirements

- GAIA, offering IVF insurance to UK, European and now American clients
