Nicola Stacey Chaucer’s Chief Underwriting Officer named CII President

Nicola Stacey, Chief Underwriting Officer at Chaucer, the global specialty (re)insurance group, has been elected the President of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). The CII is the leading professional membership body for the insurance sector, representing more than 120,00 members in the UK and internationally.

As Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), Nicola is responsible for the development of Chaucer’s underwriting strategy, with a keen focus on portfolio growth.

Nicola is currently the Deputy President of the CII and will take over from Ian Callaghan as president on 1 January 2025.

In her over 30 years of (re)insurance experience, Nicola previously held senior underwriting roles at Swiss Re and GE Insurance Solutions. She joined Chaucer in November 2019 from Swiss Re, where she was Head of Underwriting Risk Management for global Property & Casualty reinsurance.
